Very nice review. Gorgeous scenery, too! (Slovenia? It's on my bucket list of places to go; just lovely!). The car looks stunning in this color. I agree: In an age of cars that are full of folds and sharp angles, the sedan's smooth, organic lines stand out even more. Definitely one of the best-looking cars out there, and a timeless design too, I bet.
Can someone provide some milage comparison hwy or city
I wish this will come to North America. What the hell is Mazda thinking? Us Canadians have fucken expensive gas prices. This would be an awesome car to drive here.
Every other test Ive seen they said that the higher torque which is also available earlier in the rev range is quite noticable.
How does this engine's performance compare with the G 2.5L?
does it feel as powerful?
Best gasoline engine of this era, only toyota is comparable but not for the rest of the car, only on the engine side.
Great review terrible sound quality at times which was a shame as it spoilt it a bit, I have the hatchback of this model the fuel consumption is very impressive 45mpg on shorter journeys and up to 60mpg when on a run as you say it is much better on fuel once you are on a motorway I have also seen way under 5L per 100kms, after 2000miles my average is just over 50mpg (5.3L per 100kms) which for a 2L petrol engine is amazing.
Really good review of the new Mazda engine. Finding it hard to do a test drive of the auto-gearbox but the manual gearbox was very impressive. The equipment list is looking very good when compared to Mercedes A-Class Executive. Additional features on the A-Class is pushing the cost of the car up (e.g. Blind-Spot warning indicators).
So basically a legit 40mpg mixed on a reasonably large and enjoyable to drive car – impressive!
One of the best looking Cars?
Manuals rule.
Somewhere I read that this engine has to be driven for first 5000-8000Km or maybe after 2nd service to unlock its full potential and better efficiency
Why won't Mazda bring this engine to the United States?
You really do have to drive these cars to find out just how lovely they are. It's a shame they are not bigger here in Europe but the stranglehold of the big German three marques is so tight people don't see anything in the Mazda logo….simply not posh enough. Well that's what I think living in the UK.
