Am I wrong in thinking you seem to have tempered your views on the 296 since the drive/launch and your video from it?
Sam, don’t get bullied by Tony – appreciate at times he’s just winding you up for the hell of it, but in general he comes across as having very limited knowledge outside of his area of expertise (buying and selling cars up to £100k). Majority of time he comes across as a loud mouth cretin. Doesn’t understand oil is a global commodity, rather insists it’s a UK government conspiracy, loves his Porsches but argues when you rightly pointed out Cayman GT4 v2 had a new engine vs v1. Incoherent arguments re Porsche GT values, contradicting himself multiple times.
Unpopular opinion I’m sure, but tbh realise I much prefer your STG channel because it doesn’t have Tony (most of the time).
As a collector in Australia who has purchased a bunch of the last analogue supercars, including a delivery mile cgt, Tony has it completely wrong about valuing UK cars over ROW. Collectors like myself avoid UK cars like the plague – UK weather and salted roads destroy these cars and age them prematurely, everything from surface rust on chassis to salt eaten suspension rubbers and bushes. The best markets to source are from dry climates, such as California

Right now its about $6 for 9/10 of a gallon in Los Angeles Thats where gas stations make no sense here. They don't charge per gallon. Its 9/10ths. So its actually like $6.60 a gallon.

US gallon is not the same size as a UK gallon. 1.2 US gallons in a UK gallon so 3.78 litres to a US gallon. That's why US cars have a lower MPG as their gallon is smaller….

Carrera GT needs a decent set of tyres for the weather. Useless in winter or spring on sports tyres. They've been undervalued for a while, which is why collectors have suddenly been grabbing them up.
3.8 UK Litres to a US Gallon, 4.54 UK Litres to a UK Gallon. So, £1.70 a litre means a US gallon would cost £6.46 or $8.53 and a UK Gallon £7.72 or $10.19 – holy cow!

As for my fuel usage, 1 car for the household and I cycle-commute 3/4 times a week (100 miles). Besides cycling every day there's nothing we can do.

Surprised about the thoughts on the 296GTB I think its a breath of fresh air with the cleaner design, the engine sounds like a baby V12 and the performance is clearly bonkers
I would love for Ferrari to make a 246 or something that would just be the V6 and £50k less. Because a small, fast, light Ferrari just is a perfect recipe
My commute is 300km per week, 2-3 days i ride a fully enclosed bike which protects me from the weather and cold, an electric car, charged mostly by solar energy, for 1-2 days so that leaves 1 day or 60km with a petrol car. This keeps things affordable and also entertaining because i don't have to sit in the same vehicle for 1.5h a day!

Gotta say 1,6 gbp per liter diesel compared to the Netherlands is relatively cheap. It's around 1,8 gpb. Petrol is even worse, it's getting towards 2 gbp now…
A couple of points, is the price of oil not controlled global on a per barrel basis? Controlled by the oil industry. Also isn't a vast percentage of the price of a gallon of fuel made up of Government controlled excise duty, so they could 'true down' the price??

Global prices of comodities have been up since the pandemic started, so the prices were going up globaly, but that demand schock caused by the sanctions are a new condition on top of the old issue. Now the global suply chain need's to reset itself because of the sanctions and that puts not only a pressure on the system because of the new demands. Those demands, caused by the sanctions, need to be attended by other supliers that price gouge. UAE and Saudi's said that they will not increase production, Iran and Venezuela became, out of nowhere, democracys again. And only lord knows what they will do with brazilian deep sea oil, those might be alternatives aside from the usual arab ones.
I think if you look at the hybrid integration for super cars it would feel more impressive in the turbo lagy McLaren type cars, to fill the gaps. But when you have a ferrari turbo engine which they have one multiple awards for it not to feel lagey it doesn't make the car feel overly different. Hope that makes sense

Thing is, your electricity charge has increased by 75% (or will have by next month) over past 12 months, so cost to charge your EV has increased by more than petrol % wise, charging stations are increasing prices accordingly, it’s a lose lose for the motorist, whatever your preference.
In usa we pay per gallon. BIO Diesel is 5.25 or so in Pennsylvania. Gad 4.25 , 4.38 must places this crazy of war don't mean nothing over supply or the Dam just company's useing it get rich and governments to force ev
