Yea my poor Nvidia 2060 has been chugging along for years now, but I refuse to pay 3X MSRP fuck that, I'd rather just go without a PC. Been looking at a 3080 for about a year now, the one I want is sitting at around $1,850.00 on Newegg and doesnt really seem to be going down, but I wont spend anymore than $1,300 for a Nvidia 3080. So looks like I'll be waiting a few more years.

3080 for $1900 retail store price and jackasses are celebrating these prices??!!
No thank you. I'll stick to my 2070 super and play my games at 1080P or 1440. I simply refuse to pay even $1200 for a GPU that's already half way through its life cycle.

I had to do it,
I just pulled the trigger on a 6900XT from Newegg. Bought it for $1299.99 on sale.. I almost bought a 6800XT for $1440.99 until I saw that 6900XT… I had to buy a New PSU but I got the Corsair 850RM for another $100 with mail in rebait, Brining the total to $1400 plus tax.. Just to get a 6900XT and get it running and still haven't even got the card yet so will be getting back to you, But for (($1300 on a 6900XT I had to get it..)) They are still $1500 and up most of the time.. I hear the Card is a little faster than stock but I will take it.. I got the GIGABYTE Radeon RX 6900 XT GAMING OC Video Card, GV-R69XTGAMING OC-16GD .. I waited to long already for full fat Navi, I should be good on the GPU side of things for the next 4 years with adjusted settings of course..

I haven’t seen the price drop in Canada yet… availability is up for sure but why on earth would I pay 1700-1800 MSRP for a 3080 when they were much cheaper even a year ago! That’s a hard no when I have a backordered 6900XT for cheaper lol!

Sitting on my 1080 still just in shock at the current market. I don’t even game anymore but afraid to let go of the card if this is what I’d be looking at to get back into it again….

Currently building a new PC for my son to replace his older FX-8320 rig. With the prices and availability of new GPU's, I have decided to reuse the GTX 960 that he already has.

Hopefully the prices keep dropping and I can find something capable of running VR at a decent price in the next 6 months.

Yeah no shit, they gotta make room for the new over priced bullshit
Anyone who needs a video to explain why this is happening, probly shouldn't be building a pc and you're part of the problem

I just got a 2060 for $350 and a 2070 super for $550. Both from a scalper and both were unopened EVGA B stock. First GPU’s I have picked up since November. Time to slowly start buying again.

MSRP is always at least a 30% to 50% markup on a cost price in most retail stores or is was when I worked there. So a 100% markup on a 50% markup is something to keep in mind when you look at his data points. But thank you Paul for putting the prices up and making it simple to see where the market is now. I'm stubborn and these people can keep all the cards for those prices. I just feel lucky to have been able to build PCs a few years back that were less expensive then the retail big box ones and out preformed them. I am still holding on to hope that the prices will come back down even more.

card just broke got a i9 32gb ram, dont know if i should get a rubish card and wait for prices to potentially come down. Or to buy a 3070ti for £790.

The RX5700XT which came out in summer 2019 is STILL going for above its MSRP. Which is pretty ridiculous considering it has been nearly three years later. I can not think of any other point in computer history where GPU prices have been going up and not down for this long after they were released. It is like we are going backwards in terms of technology getting cheaper over time, a reverse moore's law.

Don't buy a damned thing. This is 3 year old tech now… still selling for almost x2 the RRP in many respects.

With the death of Crypto, lack of efficient farming on the current gen GPUs and with a release of the newer gen around the corner, the market will be flooded with used GPUs. Current GPUs won't even sell at RRP.

Just wait.

Still too rich for my blood sadly. Can't justify it when a PS5 or Xbox Series X costs less than one card…and I'm a PC gamer since day one. I hate feeling like I'm getting ripped off.
