Though I love Scroll videos and whatever is stated in the video seems convincing. But at the same time it shows only one side of the story. It does not take into account the historical skewed revenue allocation to different regions during British Raj. Also after Independence, policies like freight equalisation immensely damaged Eastern states, economically and socially. Green revolution favored a particular region. Policy of MSP benefits only a couple of states. So, before talking about discrimination, we should take into account all the policies of the Central govt after independence and historically crippling laws like Permanent Settlement Act. Also, for how long are we going to use 1971 census? Southern states have been rewarded for controlling their population by disproportionate allocation of seats in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha which helped Southern States for 3 decades. So, we need to find a balance acceptable to all the stakeholders such that underdeveloped States get their due without which they would never be able to catch up with developed states. For a strong and united India, we should aim for balanced regional growth and treating every Indian equally with respect and without any disparaging remarks.

Thus states where there is naturally large population will gain from this GST. This 15th finance commission is really in partial. The maximum revenue is from SOUTH INDIA & in return the SOUTH INDIAN states receive meagre amount from CENTRAL GOVERNMENT is ridiculous & condemnable
