The design of the latest Mazda3 hatch has polarised opinion, but a new sedan version has arrived to calm the debate, with more traditional lines and a huge boot. I’m thinking Mazda 3 or Toyota Corolla sedan so I can rest my v8 ssv redline series 2
What a beautiful well proportioned compact vehicle. SUVs and crossovers are eyesores…
Hi James
Thanks for your excellent reviews. I have watched a fair few of your videos & always wonder which farewell word you’ll say at the end.
I needed a suggestion. I’m tossing up between buying Mercedes A180 Sedan with AMG styling, seat comfort & vision package etc or Mazda 3 X20 Astina. I know they cater to different markets. But in terms of drive (power), technology & safety which one would you suggest. Thank you
Such an excellent review!
6:18 Mazda 3 hatch 2nd gen
This man has such a pleasant voice. I feel like I could listen to him talk about customer trends on sedans for hours.
Liked your review very much, Fluid and factual. One area virtually every reviewer is missing is that all Mazda vehicles are built in Japan. Making them the last affordable Japanese car company that still builds cars with the goal of trouble free until 200k miles. No CVT transmissions and few turbos. Engineering shortcuts that are making vehicles disposable.
Lastly, the new Sky-Active X technology could prove revolutionary with Ultra clean emissions, possibly neutralizing the overall benefits of today’s electric vehicles. Go Mazda!
Great review!
This reviewer is very professional and touched all relevant points.
Note: Put away your fingerring, next time you are near brand new paintwork…! (3:44)
Gosh is gorgeous looking and being a Mazda, it'll go forever. That aperture for the boot though, is ridiculous and the 3 isn't a small car like the 323 was which is a bit of a shame really.

えっ、後席にベンチレーションの吹き出し口がある。日本仕様にはなかったような・・・。
Gorgeous car. Much better design than the hatch.
Really great review! Question: Ford Focus or Mazda 3 in terms of value?
Thank you for this informative review. Hatchbacks are nice and practical, but in case of this new Mazda 3, hatch is much less practical than the sedan, having less volume , but the same high rear part and the same trunk opening height.
The sedan looks awesome, the hatch is super ugly, looks like an egg.
Do the wheels stay on?
Nice Milgauss
We want compares Hyundai alintra and Toyota Corolla
Do you have video for mazda 6 and Nissan altima
This would be perfect if it just had an Octavia style lift back
No idea why Mazda decided not to give rear vents in the USA market !
2:58 only Women would use the boot to store a freakin’ purse…
Finally a review on a G20 Touring model. I got a hatch version and cannot wait for it to arrive.
The sedan looks decent. The hatch is truly the ugly duckling of the range and interesting to know which design (hatch or sedan) was completed first.
Great review. I bought a 2019 hatch in snowflake white in May and it’s so beautiful inside with full soft leathers. Could be new benchmark in this segment now
You can tell a sedan driver he's got a hunch back not for me give me my nice comfortable suv any day.
Tremendously disappointing car. The value equation is gone with the over the top price rise, and it still feels very Japanese despite their attempt to move upmarket and rival European cars. It is also far too claustrophobic inside, very uncomfortable for a long journey I would imagine.
You know there is a known defect on the wheels on all Hatch Mazda 3 that will cause the wheels to fly off mid-travel right?
and based on that this car should be a -1000/10
